About Me
Hello! I’m Laurie Kallinen, and I’m blessed to call Silver Bay home, right along the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior. My husband and I have shared 40 wonderful years of marriage, and together we’ve raised five amazing sons to manhood. In my everyday life, I enjoy singing, knitting, crocheting, and taking care of my backyard chickens—once I’ve had my coffee, of course!
God has given me many different opportunities over the years. I’ve worked in banking, retail sales, as an auction clerk, multi-level marketing, as a school secretary, in hospitality, and with a nonprofit focused on food systems and security. Through every season, the constant in my life has been my walk with Christ, which began when I was 14 years old. Since then, it has been my joy to serve Him, and now I’m grateful that He is leading me into a new chapter in missions.
I often say I’m “exceptionally average,” because I’ve seen how God loves to use ordinary people in extraordinary ways. That gives me so much hope and excitement as I step forward in faith. I would be so thankful for your prayers and support—for me and for our team—as we go wherever God leads, seeking to follow His will and share the love of Christ with others around the world.
